New perimeter
The group now consists of Mandriva SA, the mother company, Conectiva, the Brazilian subsidiary, and two French subsidiaries, Edge IT and Linbox FAS. All subsidiaries are 100% owned. Linbox FAS has been consolidated since June 1, 2007 and has not had a significant impact on numbers.
New fiscal year
The May 25, 2007 shareholder meeting approved the change of the fiscal year from October to September, to January to December. Thus the current exercise, started October 1, 2006 will exceptionally by 15 month long and will close December 31, 2007.
Q3 results
Consolidated revenue for the quarter is 1.02M€.
As previously announced, the company was restructured. Cost reduction was completed during the quarter. It resulted in restructuring expenses of 0.22M€. Full cost reduction will only be seen on next quarter results.
A new organization with two business units (Consumer and Corporate) was put in place. Engineering was reorganized and is now working more closely with the community.
In the Consumer Business Unit, we continued to recruit international distributors (Turkey, South Korea, Portugal and Australia). Revenue from e-commerce and Club were disappointing and OEM in South America was satisfactory.
In the Corporate Business Unit, the teams from Mandriva and Linbox were integrated. The two product lines are being merged and sales, marketing and engineering are now focused on desktop migration and system administration.
First 9 months of 2006-2007
Consolidated revenue for the period is 3.14M€, to be compared to 4.51M€ for the equivalent period of the previous fiscal year. Expenses over the same period were reduced from 6.62M€ to 5.56M€.
