Package name rpm-macros
Date July 2nd, 2002
Advisory ID MDKA-2002:008
Affected versions 7.1, 7.2, 8.0, 8.1, CS1.0
Synopsis New rpm-macros packages provide new RPM macros

Problem Description

A new package is available that provides older distributions with the
same rpm macros that are available in Mandrake Linux 8.2. This is
useful for people and developers who wish to rebuild packages from 8.2
or Cooker on older distributions. Install the rpm-macros package to
import these new macros into your system; the package is not required
to update packages in updates if you are not interested in rebuilding
source RPM packages.

To upgrade automatically, use MandrivaUpdate.

Please verify the update prior to upgrading to ensure the integrity of the downloaded package. You can do this with the command :

                rpm --checksig package.rpm

You can get the GPG public key of the Mandriva Security Team to verify the GPG signature of each RPM.

If you use MandrivaUpdate, the verification of md5 checksum and GPG signature is performed automatically for you.
