Position summary & tasks
|
In the frame of the European Research Project NEPOMUK
( http://www.nepomuk-project.org), Mandriva is opening a position for an
experienced R&D software engineer having great interest for semantic web
technologies.
Main missions:
-
co-specification and co-development of a P2P platform for managing semi-structured personal information data
-
development of Eclipse RCP and KDE applications
-
development of advanced XWiki modules ( http://www.xwiki.org)
-
involvement of various open-source communities into the Nepomuk approach (Eclipse, KDE, XUL communities)
-
co-organization of workshops and summer schools

Requirements
|
| Professional requirements: |
-
engineering degree in computer science
-
high level in Java and/or C++
-
strong interest for the semantic web, Linux, desktop technologies (Eclipse RCP, KDE, Gnome, XUL), personal information management
-
involvement in an existing open-source Java or KDE project is a big plus
-
good knowledge of web standards
-
fluency in English
