A Call for Partnership from MandrakeSoft
Mercredi 25 Février 2004
MandrakeSoft has a rich history of cooperative R&D projects. Since the early days of the company, MandrakeSoft has always heavily invested in research and development. This was done either internally, or in cooperation with partners bringing complementary technology. Examples of such projects are CLIC, with INRIA-IMAG and Bull, where we developed some of our clustering technology, and Open Router, with InAccess Network, the CSEM (Centre Suisse d'Electronique et de Microtechnique) and Archimedia, where we developed some of our firewall technology. Aware of the fact that we need to increase this effort to improve our competitiveness on the market place, we want to organize other such projects.
MandrakeSoft is thus seeking new partners to apply to the 6th call from the Framework Programme (FP6) of the European Union.
Topics of interest:
we would like to set up a project on system tools for installation, administration and customization. But we are willing to consider all proposals that make sense with our business strategy.
Types of partners:
the partners we are seeking should be members of the European Union. We are particularly interested in developing partnerships with companies based in the new members states: Czech Republic, Estonia, Cyprus, Latvia, Lithuania, Hungary, Malta, Poland, Slovenia and Slovakia. Partners should be either public funded research centers, universities, or private companies (both large or small).
Interested candidates should contact Quoc-Viet Ha, R&D project manager, [viet at mandriva.com].
