Description : Prelude is a Network Intrusion Detection system. It is composed of the Prelude and Prelude Report programs. The first is for packet capture and data analysis via plugins, the second, for reporting attacks in an user readable form. This makes it possible to have report to another machine. Other important and current features of Prelude are an IP defragmentation stack and facility provided for plugins to have a persistant state.

Mandriva support : Mandriva hired project leader Yoann Vandoorselaere in February 1999 to support the Prelude project.
