Mandriva First Quarter Results show continued improvement

Revenue for the January to March 2008 quarter was 1.32M€, expenses were 1.64M€, operating result was -0,06M€ and net result was -0,13M€.
Compared to the corresponding quarter a year ago, sales grew by more than 52%, expenses decreased by 13% and operating loss was reduced by 92%. This evolution is the result of the restructuring and repositioning of the company over 2007.
Compared to the previous quarter, sales decreased by 13%, expenses decreased by 19%, operating loss was reduced by 65% and net loss was reduced by 93%. Sequential decrease in sales is mainly due to our Community business, reflecting a quarter without a new version and our difficulties in this segment, while OEM and Corporate business remained robust. Decrease in expenses shows that their surge in Q4 was due to exceptional events and that expenses are now stabilized below their level in Q3 last year.
Revenue for the OEM Business Unit was 35% of the total, for the Corporate Business Unit, 49% and for the Community Business Unit, 16%.
On the Corporate front, we are currently deploying our Pulse system administration tool in two large customer sites (90 000 desktops and 18 000 desktops), confirming the industrial strength and the commercial success of the solution. On the OEM front, we signed 3 new agreements on subcompact notebooks, confirming the traction of that market and our competitiveness.
